Asheville has mastered the art of outdoor adventure. But who doesn’t love putting their feet up by a campfire and roasting marshmallows? Here’s a list of some of our favorite places to go camping in Asheville.
When you go to Campfire Lodgings, you go for the view! Located on Goldview Knob allows you a mountain top view of the French Broad River, below. With numerous trails running throughout the 100 acre property, you have access to good hiking right from your campsite. This is a favorite for RV and tent campers alike!
Spread among three properties, both remote and urban, Asheville Glamping offers tents, yurts, glam-retro trailers and a romantic dome! Striving to give their guests an adventure, not just a place to stay, Asheville Glamping delivers just that.
Home to events and weddings, Franny’s Farm is located in Leicester, not far from Asheville. This glamp community has all the farm charm you could want for cozy night away. The property is spacious and has rolling pastures and a ridge line view that is breathtaking.
Hot Springs Resort & Campground
Hot Springs Resort & Campground is located along the banks of the French Broad River and a favorite destination for campers, health seekers and those traveling on the Appalachian Trail (which runs directly through downtown Hot Springs)! The campground is family friendly, with sites along the river and access to the natural hot mineral spring tubs at the resort. Max Patch, a great summit hike is nearby!
Lake Powhatan Recreation & Campground
Lake Powhatan Recreation Area and Campground is a heavily wooded campground with access to a mountain beach! If you want a more active camping experiment, check out nearby hiking and biking trails in Bent Creek’s Experimental Forest. See a site map for trails here!
