8 THINGS TO BRING WITH YOU ON YOUR FLOAT

map

There’s no better way to relax this summer than to spend time floating down the French Broad River. We do want you to be prepared, so we recommend that you bring a few things with you. If you forget, don’t worry! Be happy! We have almost* everything listed below at the outpost.

*You bring the friends and family.

1 – Shoes

While the French Broad is a lazy river, it’s not the kind you find at a water park with a smooth concrete bottom. There are rocks and we want you to be safe from injury. Wearing shoes while tubing is an absolute must. We sell inexpensive river shoes at the outpost for the whole family.

They don’t have to be this fancy.

2 – Sunscreen

The last thing you want at the end of a great day is a sunburn. Wear sunscreen! Bring it with you or we have it at the outpost.

Don’t wait to apply sunscreen!

3 – Water

Stay hydrated while on the river. You may feel cool and happy while you’re floating down the river, but don’t forget to stay hydrated. We have water bottles at the outpost, as well as coolers, coozies, water bottles, and cooler tubes. We even sell ice for your cooler!

4 – Friends

Bring your friends to share in your fun! Go ahead and feel free to leave that friend behind who complains about everything.

If you bring these friends with you, be sure to let us know!

5 – Family

Tubing offers a great way for families to spend time together. It’s fun for most ages (young and old). Remember, though, kids must be 4 years old to go tubing. And, we have life jackets for everyone. They’re required for the youngsters!

6 – A Good Attitude

A good attitude is key to your best experience. We will take good care of you. You show up and we’ll take care of the rest. That being said, remember that it takes time to get you on the river safely. We want you to be happy and safe. Leave the worries behind and go with the flow.

7 – Snacks

Don’t let your blood sugar drop. Bring some snacks for the trip. Be sure to keep all garbage and recycling with you in the cooler tube and dispose of it at the takeout. Help keep the river clean!

8 – Sunglasses and/or Hats
